Job summary
To provide a structured counselling service to adults (18+) with mild to moderate mental health problems
To manage all aspects of a caseload, appointments and waiting list system
To maintain client records appropriately and liaise with relevant professionals
To complete regular audit as required by Velindre Cancer Centre Clinical Psychology Service.
Main duties of the job
- To provide counselling for adults (18+) affected by cancer, using models of psychological intervention. This will normally be one to one work but may also include couples / group work where appropriate and as requested by the manager of the service
- To liaise and collaborate with other statutory and non-statutory
- To be a member of an appropriate professional body with a recognised code of ethics, BACP. To be accountable for own ethical, professional and clinical practice, and work within BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy
- To maintain a high quality clinical practice by attending clinical supervision meetings in accordance with BACP Ethical framework
- To maintain appropriate records within the service, writing up of client notes following counselling interventions. Inform referrer of outcome of intervention at the end of counselling where applicable.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
