An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced radiographer to join our radiotherapy team at Velindre Cancer Centre as an Advanced Practitioner for Brachytherapy.
Velindre Cancer Centre is a purpose built hospital, providing world class cancer care to the people of South East Wales. The Radiotherapy Department currently consists of 4 Varian linear accelerators (1 Clinac 2100C, 1 Trilogy and 2 Truebeam STx) and 4 matched Elekta Synergy linear accelerators all with cone beam imaging. The department also has 2 Siemens Somatom Go CT simulators commissioned in 2020, HDR Flexitron and Xstrahl orthovoltage.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder should be HCPC registered and experienced in all aspects of the radiotherapy pathway includingCT, data entry, treatment planning, delivery including Brachytherapy and On treatment Review and equipped with the clinical knowledge of current developments.
This post will provide the ambitious professional with an opportunity to expand themselves and to have a direct impact on the quality of service provided and to shape the future of the evolving department.
Through participation in the Trust's Transforming Cancer Services programme, you will have the opportunity to be part of the development of the new cancer centre and a new satellite centre both of which are currently being planned.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/ or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
