An opportunity has arisen for a part time Administrator / Medical Secretary within the Orthopaedic Interface Service based at Chippenham Community Hospital. There may be opportunities for some home working.
The Orthopaedic Interface Service is a musculoskeletal assessment service run by Advanced Orthopaedic Practitioners (AOP). An AOP is a Physiotherapist who has specialist and in-depth knowledge of their musculoskeletal field.
The aim of the service is to identify the best treatment options for the patient and then to make sure that any investigations or non-surgical treatments have already been done prior to a secondary care consultant appointment.
The role is demanding and interesting and will require someone who is flexible and able to work under pressure and deal with a variety of tasks.
Main duties of the job
You will provide an administrative service to nominated medical staff as required. This involves (but is not limited to) typing clinic letters, discharges and other patient related documentation, receiving electronic referrals and telephoning patients to book appointments.
If you are enthusiastic, good IT and communication skills and enjoy working in a team then we would like to hear from you. In return we can offer you a supportive, fast moving and varied job, in an often-busy environment.
We are a busy, friendly team, who would welcome the opportunity to work with a new member of staff willing to contribute to the on-going development of the services we provide.
