Job summary

Senior Emergency Practitioner - Band 7

MIU - Chippenham & Trowbridge

Permanent - Full and Part time opportunities available

Do you enjoy working in a busy environment where no two shifts are the same?

Would you like to work in a highly supportive team with excellent opportunities for development and progression?

Do you want to fully utilise and develop your clinical skills underpinned with funded Masters Level Training as an Emergency Practitioner?

If so, our Minor Injury Units are the place for you!

Wiltshire Health and Care have two Minor Injury Units, in Chippenham and Trowbridge, that treat approximately 2000 patients across the service per month, making a real difference, providing care closer to home and avoiding admission to hospital wherever possible and appropriate. Our aim is to closely integrate with the Primary Care Network to widen the conditions we are able to support within our units. Both units offer a unique experience of care requirements, and you will have the opportunity to work across both sites.

Main duties of the job

As an Emergency Practitioner you will be a Registered Nurse or Paramedic. You will need to have the desire to autonomously assess and treat patients. You will have excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills along with the ability to lead together with a passion to provide patient centred care. You will be working across a shift system which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team who pride themselves on their excellent team working and support of each other whilst treating a diverse range of conditions. You will have excellent opportunities for learning and development with access to a wide range of courses to develop your clinical skills along the four pillars of care. You will be supported to obtain the Non-Medical Prescribing qualification if not already part of your skill set.

This role will provide you with a challenging but rewarding opportunity to utilise your skills and to deliver excellent care to a wide group of patients. We are happy to consider standard and long day shift patterns.

Please don't hesitate to contact Barry Iedema if you would like any further information or to arrange an informal visit via 07392 280263
