A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our physiotherapy department as a Musculoskeletal Exercise Instructor.

Our service is well respected, and we have developed strong relationships with local GP practices, FCPs, Orthopaedic and Rheumatology consultants, midwives as well as other healthcare professionals. You would be joining a friendly and supportive team of over 20 full and part time clinicians including Physiotherapists, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APP), Physiotherapy Assistants and Administrative staff.

Learning and personal development is strongly encouraged and supported. We offer monthly departmental IST, 1:1 supervision, support from our Clinical Specialists with patient assessment and management as required and subsidised places on external courses. We have computer-based notes, and benefit from shared patient records with the GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Successful candidates will be based in our busy Outpatient Department at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, you will have access to excellent gym and rehabilitation facilities. We are also based at Wilton Health Centre, Amesbury Health Centre and we work in a number of GP practices in South Wiltshire. We are part of a Wiltshire-wide network of physiotherapists allowing opportunities to work, or transfer to one of our other physiotherapy departments.

Main duties of the job

We always accommodate working hours to enable a good work/life balance, where able, and there is currently no on-call rota or weekend working.

Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and have experience working with

individuals creating and implementing exercise programs. They must have a flexible, adaptable and

innovative approach to their work. On joining our team and after completing the appropriate

training, the successful candidate will assess simple Orthopaedic MSK conditions such as total

knee and hip replacements. The candidate will create and deliver exercise programs and will assist in a variety of classes including Escape Pain, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Hydrotherapy, Back, OA hip and knee and gym based rehab classes.

Wiltshire Health and Care is an NHS partnership formed by the three local Foundation Trusts which serve Wiltshire: Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. We are responsible for the delivery of adult community health services in Wiltshire. However, this role offers a permanent NHS contract. The MSK service for Wiltshire is based in 11 sites and additional GP clinics with excellent links to our acute hospitals in Bath, Swindon as well as Salisbury.
