Job summary
The Transfusion Laboratory Services department at the Welsh Blood Service is looking for a new Transfusion Laboratory Services Administrator; this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward thinking individual to join our dynamic team responsible for the provision of blood components across Wales.
It is essential that the successful candidate is methodical in the presentation of their work and possess excellent time management skills. They will need to have flair for maintaining a robust administrative system, demonstrate IT skills (specifically using Microsoft Office packages), be disciplined in their approach to their work, but also be flexible and willing to learn and adapt, in a fast paced environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Key aspects of this role include:
Scheduling meetings and preparing relevant documentation (minutes, action logs, reports etc.),
Supporting the departmental training & education function,
Responding to email and telephone enquiries,
Processing payroll information,
Placing and receipting orders (on Oracle system),
Responding to staff enquiries and
Assisting with the day-to-day running of the office.
