Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated person to join the Welsh Blood Services (WBS) Business Intelligence Team, who are responsible for the provision of data, information and reporting services to support decision-making. The team has a broad and ambitious brief to establish industry-standard business intelligence services for the organisation.

The role supports decision making across all aspects of the organisation, and sets the standard for data analysis and literacy. It provides an opportunity to gain experience in data science and team leadership.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision of a group of analysts operating across the whole blood supply chain, assisting the Head of Information in continually developing best practice business intelligence and analytical services, and advising decision makers at all levels.

Core duties include: provision of ad-hoc data analysis and quality assurance of the work of others; continual development of our analytical toolkit and our self-service information products; setting and maintaining standards for analytical practice; improving data literacy across the organisation; presentation of analytical findings to senior staff and external organisations.
