Job summary
Public Health Wales is looking for a dynamic public health practitioner who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing and reducing inequalities in the early years.
The post holder will join the Health Improvement Division, working at a national level.The role will be key to enabling effective development, delivery and evaluation of public health action for improved population outcomes.Working across the system and in collaboration with partners you willlead delivery of your strategic programme/s.
You will providespecialist advice and represent Public Health Wales in national advisory groups, with a key role in maintaining and developing relationships and strategic partnerships within the wider system including the statutory, voluntary, private and independent sectors at national and local level.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
- Lead implementation and delivery of all Wales health improvement work for a specialist programme area/s.
- Act as senior topic based specialist in the area of interest maintaining an awareness of the latest scientific evidence and engaging with other specialists across Wales and beyond.
- Lead the joint planning of collective action with programme leads across the specialist public health system ensuring synergy between local public health teams and the all Wales programme.
- Provide advice related to specialist programme area/s on the implementation of public health policy and strategy at a national level to achieve high level strategic goals and population based outcomes
- Develop, monitor and evaluate the delivery of the programme plans, relevant sections of the Public Health Wales Annual Plan and Integrated Medium Term Plan.
- Ensure that all programmes are co-produced with the public and key partners.
