Job summary

The Clinical Nurse Manager will be a key member of the Bowel Screening Wales (BSW) senior management and leadership team, working with fellow senior managers and Consultant colleagues to ensure adherence to statutory guidance and deliver the Programme's strategic and operational objectives

To act as the equity lead for BSW, responsible for leading, developing and delivering a national bowel screening equity strategy and plan, ensuring high quality patient focused services and effective stakeholder engagement

Be responsible for ensuring that the Programme adheres to all clinical governance standards, policies & procedures, ensuring safe, efficient and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate qualification (masters) or equivalent level of experience and proven ability to perform at this level
  • Qualification in leadership or management, (e.g., postgraduate diploma/certificate) or equivalent level of skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge of workforce and OD policies and procedures including developing people, performance management, disciplinary process

Desirable

  • Service improvement qualification
  • Knowledge of health inequalities
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, Duty of Quality and Candour and other national strategies and guidelines

Experience

Essential

  • Currently practicing in a nursing role
  • Post registration experience (at band 7 or above).
  • Demonstrable experience of working with underserved populations or reducing health inequalities
  • Demonstrable experience of leading, managing and developing a high performing team of people
  • Experience of leading operational change and service improvement processes
  • Experience of leading and managing a service
  • Demonstrable evidence of managing governance and quality assurance processes
  • Experience of providing specialist advice to a range of healthcare providers and the public
