Public Health Wales is looking for someone to join their Research and Evaluation team to help Wales realise the ambition of our Healthy Weight Healthy Wales Strategy and delivery plan. We are looking for people with interest and experience in developing and applying rigorous mixed methods approaches to help us better understand and evidence the impact of public health action.
This position offers the opportunity to become a Public Health Research Assistant within a growing team of Public Health researchers. We would be happy to consider a range of employment options, including full or part time posts.

Main duties of the job
You will join the Health Improvement Division within Public Health Wales to contribute to an applied programme of public health research and evaluation (extending to policy and practice), providing specialist advice and expertise across the Division and delivering support to our external partners.
You will contribute to specific projects by scoping, designing and delivering research to determine the impact of public health related policy initiatives, practice and interventions on health. This includes our whole systems
approach to healthy weight, generating actionable learning for the organisation and partners and delivering trusted and academically robust evidence to inform action across policy and/or practice agendas at local and national levels.
You will bring an understanding of the principles of evaluation and experience in the application of research methods, both qualitative and quantitative. You will use excellent communication and influencing skills to build collaborative working relationships, working with teams inside and outside of Public Health Wales.
