Job summary
Applications are invited for the role of QA Vascular Surgery Lead, specifically for QA advice relating to the Vascular Society for Great Britain and Ireland standards and the QA of the three regional elective vascular networks. The post holder will be required to provide advice on individual cases and professional advice relating vascular disease and surgery. Participation with the UK Four Nations AAA Screening Group is essential. It is expected that applicants are practicing vascular surgeons in Wales.
Main duties of the job
The role of the QA advisor will be to ensure that quality is maintained in line with the requirements of the quality policy outlined for Wales Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (WAAASP).
This post forms part of WAAASP, which aims to reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality from ruptured AAA in the screened population.
The post holder will provide a visible QA profile and expert advisory input into vascular surgical aspects ofWAAASP.
The post holder will be professionally accountable and required to act autonomously in providing vascular surgical advice and guidance to other clinical professionals based on own specialist skills, knowledge and experience of screening and the screening programme.
The post holder will be expected to travel across Wales as it is an all Wales post.
