Job summary
The NHS Wales Executive is an exciting strategic organisation to work for, that drives the collaboration of Health Boards, Trusts, professional and charitable organisations and aims to improve the experience and quality of services for those with rare diseases in Wales.
An estimated 150,000 in Wales are affected by a rare disease. A rare disease is a life-threatening or chronically debilitating disease which affects five people or fewer in 10,000 of the population. To deliver on our aim, we have created a Rare Diseases Implementation Network to ensure our work focuses on early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care pathways.
We are looking for an excellent Senior Project Support Officer, providing high-level administrative support, liaising with colleagues, stakeholders and a wide range of professionals using strong communication skills, working closely with the Network Support Manager for the Rare Diseases Implementation Network.
Any candidate should have a proven track record of delivery and an understanding of the NHS in Wales. Candidates will need to demonstrate proven ability during the recruitment process.
Our working arrangements still require candidates to work from home, however the offices of the NHS Wales Executive include Cardiff, Baglan and Llandudno. Willingness and ability to travel across NHS Wales organisations is essential.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Senior Project Support Officer are to support specific projects and sub-groups within the Rare Diseases Implementation Network as well as providing general administrative support.
The post holder will:
- Provide general administrative support.
- Support the maintenance, management and oversight of project plans.
- Support the development and management of required documentation.
- Take responsibility for the management of defined areas of work within specific projects.
- Support the management of budgets.
- Support stakeholder communications and engagement.
- Produce reports on progress for internal and external use.
