The Wales Health Impact Assessment Support Unit (WHIASU) plays a critical role in supporting public health initiatives across Wales. We are dedicated to improving health outcomes by providing expert advice, guidance, and support on Health Impact Assessments (HIAs) to a range of stakeholders, including local authorities, health boards, and community groups.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administration and Resources Officer to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis until the end of March 2025. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of WHIASU and contribute to the effective delivery of our services.

Main duties of the job

This post will support WHIASU by providing administrative assistance to the team. The post holder will be required to communicate and liaise directly with stakeholders, both internal and external to the Unit, whilst also supporting training and networking events.

Joining our team, you will be responsible for the management of our team inbox, responding to queries and will help the team prepare for the incoming statutory Health Impact Assessment (HIA) regulations by Welsh Government as part of the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017.

Although Public Health Wales support a hybrid approach to working, there will also be the expectation to travel to work from the office at least twice a month, or more if the need arises.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
