We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher with senior leadership experience to join our Health Improvement Division on a secondment basis. The post presents an opportunity to work within a public health team dedicated to supporting the implementation of the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience across all progression stages. You will be a senior education practitioner with significant experience of designing and implementing health and well-being curricula including in line with the Curriculum for Wales. The role will provide education leadership, including pedagogical and strategic education expertise to the development of supportive frameworks for the effective application of health and well-being topics and activities to meet learners' identified needs within the Health and Well-being statements of what matters. This exciting role will co-lead a health and education partnership to best meet the needs of learners and settings during a period of significant change, challenge and opportunity
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the Consultant lead and Health and Well-being Curriculum Programme Manager, as well as the wider Education Settings team to deliver a national work programme and work closely with stakeholders, including practitioners across a range of settings, to co-construct effective support to schools.
Qualified Teacher Status, as well as substantial experience of the new curriculum for Wales in the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience is essential for this role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Public Health Wales particularly welcome applicants currently working within secondary schools in Wales.
