An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health Wales' Central Team which works across the Health Protection and Screening Services directorate as a Business & Support Manager.
The post holder will be a key member of the Health Protection and Screening Services (HPSS) Central team and will support the directorate development and delivery of long term operational service, business management, risk management, corporate governance and delivery of strategic plans, providing monitoring and reporting support to the Central Team Senior Leadership.
The post holder will be able to work in a flexible hybrid way through a combination of office-based and remote working. Public Health Wales has a number of office sites located across Wales.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide day to day administrative leadership and project support to the PHW HPSS Central Team, developing and maintaining outstanding working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation. The post holder will work with minimal supervision and be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will provide a wide range of specific administrative duties.
To apply, you must have significant experience in supervisor / line management, as the role will include line managing the administrative colleagues who are dispersed across multiple sites.The job will include tasks such as undertaking appraisals, project management, sickness management, recruitment, and performance.You will also be responsible and accountable for objectives, deadline driven work and the quality of work produced by the admin team and be expected to develop the admin and clerical provision further.Projects may include reviewing the admin workload to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service offered and understand what provision would best support the colleagues across the directorate.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, assertive and proactive with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
