Job summary
Screening Division is part of Public Health Wales and delivers national screening programmes for the population of Wales. This post forms part of Cervical Screening Wales, which aims to reduce the incidence of, and morbidity and mortality from, invasive cervical cancer .
The all Wales service is operationally managed through three regional centres each of which operate its own call, recall and onward referral services.
The post holder will work alongside the Screening Pathway Manager, undertake delegated tasks as necessary and in the absence of the Screening Pathway Manager will be the main point of contact for the local region.
The post holder will have delegated management responsibility for the Screening Pathway officers within the region and is responsible for ensuring the call, recall and failsafe processes for the local programme.
Main duties of the job
The core requirements of the post will include:
- Providing support to the Screening Pathway Manager by undertaking delegated tasks and providing cover in their absence
- Overseeing day to day workload of Screening Pathway team and undertaking line management duties as delegated by the Screening Pathway Manager.
- Performance management of the screening pathway office
- Implementing call/recall and failsafe processes in line with all Wales policies and procedures
- Participating in audit reviews and development for screening pathways
- Providing training on screening pathway processes to regional staff and other regions as and when required
