Job summary

Following a review of the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity function at Public Health Wales, we are looking to further strengthen our workforce.

An opportunity has arisen for an exciting new position of Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response Officer within the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team at Public Health Wales.

Main duties of the job

The Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response Officer will deliver, facilitate and project manage the implementation key elements of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity across the organisation and with multi-agency partners. This will include supporting the review and implementation of a training and exercise programme against identified risks and delivering performance improvement through policy and plan development.

This is a chance to join a national Public Health organisation, contributing to and supporting its statutory responsibilities for emergency preparedness and response.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in the specialist areas

  • Master's degree in relevant subject

  • Experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at senior management level
