Job summary
This is a fixed-term 0.8 (30 hours) secondment opportunity until 31 October 2024. Please ensure that permission is sought from current line manager prior to application.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Nutritionist to join our Health Improvement Division to support a range of programmes of work where nutrition and diet is a determinant. This role will provide specialist public health nutrition expertise at a national level for Public Health Wales working alongside the Nutrition and Obesity team and the Consultant in Public Health.
You will work closely with the Senior Public Health Nutritionist to support Welsh Government in the development of food and nutrition related policy and strategy and with a range of partners both within and beyond Public Health Wales and across sectors including the independent and commercial sector.
Main duties of the job
You will use your knowledge and expertise to:
- Contribute to the delivery of health improvement projects and interventions at an All Wales level by providing specialist nutrition advice
- Undertake the monitoring and contribute to evaluation of health improvement action
Contributing to the delivery of health improvement projects and interventions at an All Wales level by providing specialist nutrition advice
- Monitor the delivery of project plans and relevant sections of the Public Health Wales Annual Plan.
- Contribute to the development of interventions that are co-produced with the public and key partners
- Lead on the dissemination of knowledge relating to public health nutrition to the public and key partners.
You should be educated to degree level or equivalent level qualification including a significant nutrition and public health components and have
eevidence of continuing professional development.
