Public Health Wales is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Head of Risk Management, who will be at the forefront of our risk management development plan. We need your strategic acumen and ability to inspire others, to shape our risk management practices.

You will become an integral part of an organisation that values your expertise and empowers you to make a lasting impact.

This This role requires an experienced, senior, highly qualified and competent professional with broad experience and a highly developed skill-set in risk management. The individual will be able to proactively negotiate and influence at senior levels within the organisation, linking closely to executive functions, senior management and staff in the provision of the Trust's progressive Risk management agenda.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Risk Management will support the CEO, Board and Non- Executive Directors and will be directly responsible to the Assistant Director of Integrated Governance and will lead on all risk management strategies and initiatives. The role will have significant input to the Trust's strategic and business planning systems providing advice on all risk management aspects including risk appetite.

  • Master's Degree or demonstrate an equivalent level of experience in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of higher or further education
  • Demonstrable CPD

Desirable

  • Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management/ or working toward CMIRM
  • Training and Audit Qualification (C&G)
  • Prince2 certification or similar project management qualification desirable.
  • Knowledge of 'Datix' or other risk data capturing systems
  • Familiar with ISO Standards (ISO 31000)

  • Evidenced ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries in an atmosphere of change / complex structures and partnership working.
