To provide a first class, comprehensive secretarial service to a large teamof local Consultant Medical Staff and to facilitate effective communication between medical teams at the South East Wales centre.
Providing non clinical advice and information over the telephone, in Welsh or English, to service user, their families or carers.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Medical Secretary. The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the local clinical team. Planning and supporting the assessment pathway, including processing assessment clinics, typing clinic letters, recording clinical data and creating electronic treatment referrals.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a keen eye for detail, have excellent written and oral communication skills, accurate audio and copy typing skills, high level organisational skills.

The post holder will be required to enter information and data from radiological forms, clinical letters and pathology reports into the National Breast Screening System. In collaboration with Consultant Medical Staff, collate data and information for formal research trials and audits.
The successful candidate must have a knowledge and understanding of a broad range of medical terminology and knowledge of a range of IT packages. Provide high level secretarial support for all consultants, typing correspondence and reports and arranging appointments.
