Job summary

The Wales Cancer Network is an exciting strategic organisation to work for, that drives the collaboration of Health Boards, Trusts, professional and charitable organisations that aims to improve the experience and quality of services for people who are diagnosed with cancer. To deliver on our aim our work programmes focus on early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and care pathways.

We are looking for an excelling and proven senior nurse leader to scope, benchmark and undertake a national evaluation of current cancer nursing workforce.

They will work collaboratively with Macmillan, Health Education and Improvement Wales and key stakeholders to produce a report outlining recommendations on cancer nursing workforce.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work collaboratively with Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and with Health Board/Trust Lead Cancer Nurses/Clinical Nurse Specialist teams in Wales to drive standardisation of cancer nursing practice. They will provide professional leadership, expertise, and clinical direction to cancer nurses across Wales and will ensure that quality and safety is at the heart of person-centred care.

Any candidate should have a proven track record, understand the Wales Cancer Network agenda and organisational arrangements to succeed in leading and delivering a bespoke work programme that includes the speciality of quality, patient experience and engagement.
