Job summary
The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service support the health and wellbeing of all Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust staff, volunteers and placement students. Risks associated with this work include sleep difficulties, musculoskeletal problems, and workplace injuries. We also know that those who work in the ambulance sector are more at risk of mental ill health, suicide and are more likely to attribute work as a contributing factor to their difficulties.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
This temporary flexible role requires an experienced enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative individual who responds positively to new challenges. The post holder will work within the service to deliver high quality Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy to members of staff and volunteers throughout the organisation. This could include providing assessment, intervention and psychologically- informed consultation; service improvement projects; psychoeducational workshops; risk management; and reflective practice. The post holder will provide clinical supervision of staff in the Wellbeing Service.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
- MSc or Post graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Accreditation with British Association of Cognitive & Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP), or evidence of provisional BABCP accreditation
- Demonstrable theoretical knowledge of psychological of models of psychopathology
- Knowledge of medication used in common mental health problems
- Knowledge of application of psychological therapy with people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
- Specialist skills with working with people with mental health difficulties
- Demonstrates an understanding of psychosocial issues that can impact on clients and how they may present. Additionally, knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health / benefits & employment systems
- Knowledge of medication used in common mental health problems
- Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
- Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation
