Datix System Lead / Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust's Quality, Safety and Patient Experience Department as a Datix System Lead on a Full Time Band 6 permanent basis.

The post holder will principally function as the in-house Datix Cymru and Datix Web System Lead responsible for its day-to-day operational management, maintenance, and security across all modules, including Adverse Incidents, Feedback, Claims, Mortality Reviews, Compliments supporting the Trust risk management requirements.

The post holder will also be the lead contact for information, intelligence, and analysis enquiries from and for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across all modules of the Datix system.

The post holder will work closely and collaboratively with content leads from Putting Things Right, Safeguarding and Health & Safety. In addition to Corporate Governance, Information Governance and the Once for Wales Central Team who oversee Datix Cymru on an all-Wales basis.

There will be an expectation that the post holder will develop Datix Cymru bulletins, users guides and self-service dashboards for managers to monitor performance, trends, and themes to improve organisational learning.

Main duties of the job

Working to the Head of Quality Assurance, the post holder will work in partnership with all teams & departments to support the co-ordination and day to day management of the Datix agenda (trust wide system), meeting the Trusts ambitions and legislative requirements.

Build Datix analytics and system capability/capacity in collaboration with the Datix Central Team, aligned to the All Wales Health & Social Care (Quality & Engagement) (Wales) Bill.

Provide comprehensive information analysis in relation to all modules within the Datix software systems. This will include producing a standard suite of regular reports and analysis, as well as responding to ad-hoc, often time-bound information queries and requests across all modules of the Datix system, including Adverse Incidents, Complaints, Claims, Mortality, Compliments and Risk.

Improve organisational learning by developing self-service tools for managers to monitor performance, trends, and themes in their business areas, and to be the primary contact for Datix related information and analysis enquiries and requests, using expert subject knowledge to provide advice on interpretation and analysis.

Improve the quality of information held in the Datix system by implementing data quality standards and monitoring tools to improve data reliability and subsequent business information through the collaboration with key users of the system.

Essential

  • oEducated to degree level in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • oSpecialist knowledge in a range of Datix Module applications and tools gained either from recent work experience or through undertaking Datix related courses.
  • oExcellent communications and working relationships with end users and clinical staff to develop requirements and realise benefits of good information.
  • oKnowledge of statistical techniques.
  • oKnowledge/experience of relational databases
  • oGood working knowledge of SQL scripting.
