Job summary

We currently have 1x 15hr Liaison Supervisor position based at Withybush General Hospital. There is one Liaison site at this hospital.

The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is responsible for providing non-emergency and pre-planned transport, to and from hospitals and treatment centres for patients who have appointments at out-patient clinics, day surgery units, and day centers.

The role involves working independently to provide an initial point of contact for all patients attending routine hospital appointments, processing enquires from patients, hospital wards and departments for all issues associated with Non-emergency Ambulance transport and working closely with the day control and planning functions to ensure the smooth flow of patients.

The post holder is also required to provide supervision of NEPTS operational staff whilst at the hospital, to ensure effective utilization of all resources, co-coordinating with hospital staff to assist with the effective discharge of patients, checking systems to see if transport has been booked.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will need to demonstrate they have excellent keyboard and IT skills, worked as part of a team and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be educated to a good educational standard, have the ability to work unsupervised and have experience in working in a customer focused environment.

A good knowledge of the geographical areas of Central and West Wales area would be advantageous and a command of the Welsh Language is desirable, but not essential.

The post will offer an opportunity to work within a busy and challenging environment, co-ordinating and problem solving on a daily basis. The department currently operates on a Monday - Friday basis from 0830 - 1630 hrs.
