Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Organisational Development Manager to join our Diversity and Inclusion Team. Working alongside our Head of Inclusion and Engagement, you will be responsible for leading on specific projects to create and maintain inclusive services. You will help the Trust achieve its Strategic Equality Objectives and ensure that the Trust operates in line with its statutory requirements. This role will lead on developing and delivering training, inclusive recruitment projects, facilitating staff networks, policy development and advising on impact assessment. Extensive knowledge of equality-related legislation specific to public sector bodies and experience of applying this in the workplace are essential for this post.
You will need to be confident in challenging attitudes and behaviours that do not align with those of the Trust. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are integral to this role to manage difficult conversations and controversy within the workplace. You will also need to demonstrate a history of problem solving, critical thinking and the ability to find resolutions to complex situations to ensure fair outcomes are achieved for all.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and coordinate the development of strategies and policies to support equality governance and compliance with legislation and other mandatory requirements, having particular regard to the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998. They will help ensure that the Trust meets the highest standards of practice and will ensure that equality and diversity is embedded into the Trust values and behaviours framework. The post holder will work with colleagues to ensure that these strategies and policies are implemented across all divisions of the organisation and to provide 'challenge' to divisions in the application of these policies to ensure that they are consistently and routinely applied.
Acting as lead specialist for compliance with Diversity and Inclusion legislation and bringing about change initiatives to continuously develop the Diversity and Inclusion working culture, the post holder will work independently, guided by broad occupational policies and specific local and national guidelines, in order to ensure that the Trust meets and exceeds its Strategic Equality Objectives. This will include:
- Providing professional advice to managers on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters.
- Ensure the strategic equality objectives are part of the Trust's working culture and practices delivered through focussed OD work such as learning interventions.
- Supporting the team in delivering designated programme activity.
