Job summary

Fully Qualified Paramedics

It has been an exciting time at Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust as we continue our journey of "Being our Best", and our mission to provide world-class patient care.

We are now looking to appoint fully qualified paramedics. Therefore we would love to hear from you if you are:

  • A fully qualified paramedic (external candidate) OR
  • a fully qualified paramedic currently working for us as a bank paramedic and you have maintained your Band 6 competencies and training requirements

The Application Process

  • Evidence of your Emergency driving qualification in a C1 class vehicle.

Main duties of the job

To act as an Autonomous Specialist Practitioner in unpredictable and hazardous environments within the pre-hospital and primary care setting. Treating patients that access the 999, primary and secondary care systems, who present with a wide and varied range of conditions from serious emergency life threats, to the chronic conditions that will need a more holistic treatment option and in line with current and future policies. Also engaging with the extensive social aspect of patient care by accessing a variety of pathways, to offer a more appropriate treatment option in line with Prudent Health Care.

To provide a patient focused delivery of care, treatment and safe transport for emergency and non-emergency patients in a clinically safe and professional environment, utilising enhanced skills and regulated best practice when required to do so, adhering at all times to the policies and standards inherent within the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST). Will also act as a mentor to developing pre-hospital care professionals.
