Portsmouth
Hospitals University NHS Trust is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, Dermatology
Consultant to join our existing team. This is a new position with the majority
of the workload being at St Marys Hospital, although, peripheral clinics are
held in local community facilities. This is a part time post 8PAs.
The
Dermatology service currently has an establishment of nine Consultants and an
Associate Specialist who takes a full share in many of the consultant duties.
There are four Speciality Registrars from the Wessex Rotation as well as a
Research Fellow. The Department prides
itself in well organised team working with an equitable share of workload.
The
Department provides a full range of Dermatology services. All Consultants
contribute to both general dermatology services and surgery. The department
also has subspecialty services including joint clinics with Rheumatology,
Genito-Unrinary Medicine/Gynaecology, Oncology, Radiotherapy, Plastic Surgery,
Paediatrics. The department has a well-established
Mohs service and Paediatric facilities.
Main duties of the job
Applications
will be welcomed from candidates with experience in Vulval Dermatology and
Paediatric Dermatology. The Department also has an excellent reputation for
teaching and the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to both
undergraduate and post graduate (SpR) teaching. With the development of
integrated care services there will also be plenty of opportunities to develop
an integrated Dermatology Service locally.

The department provides a large part of the Wessex dermatology SpR rotation in
addition to post CCT surgical fellow and research fellow. The successful

on call.

support staff including nursing, technical and administration staff numbers in
place to support this new post.
