Main duties of the job
- To work as part of the Care Group Team ensuring that the service delivered to patients and relatives is evidence based, meets statutory and contractual requirements and that patients and staff have a positive experience.
- To lead on the learning and development agenda for the specialty/Care Group ensuring that education provision meets service requirements and that the specialty/Care Group meets its statutory and contractual obligations. Ensuring staff are fit to practise and those with talent are enabled to progress.
- Provide visible clinical leadership and presence across the specialty/Care Group working with individuals and teams to facilitate innovation in the pursuit of clinical excellence.
- Provide strong professional clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and act as a professional role model.

- Support team members to deliver on their functionally relevant objectives through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate.
- Ensure that approved budgets are managed effectively and in accordance with agreed procedures

- Be proactive in the prevention and management of complaints (formal and those via Patient Advice and Liaison Service) and when they occur investigate and respond in a timely manner. Use any learning to share widely with the multidisciplinary team and to improve care delivery.
- Responsible for the management of staff performance and attendance in line with trust policies.
- Promote the health and well-being of staff, patients and their carers.
- Comply and promote compliance with Trust policies and guidelines e.g. Health and Safety, Clinical Risk and Infection Control.
