We are looking for individuals that are either new to Health and Social Care, or experienced support workers who want to bring their skills to an acute hospital environment and truly want to have a direct impact on helping our patients. Working with us you will witness first-hand the outcome of your caring nature and efforts which will make a fantastic positive impact on our hospital.
We currently have HCSW vacancies both within the Queen Alexandra site and our external sites. The shifts can include:
Early 07:30-15:30
Late 12:00-20:00
Long 07:30-20:00
Night 19:30-08:00
Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of registered health care professionals, you will be assisting the team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients. In addition, you will take all possible steps to safeguard the welfare, safety and security of patients, visitors and staff.
Your main day-to day duties:
You will fully utilise your caring nature by providing care to patients which will include maintaining their personal hygiene, which will include sometimes working with bodily fluids and providing physical comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is always maintained.
Washing and dressing patients, serving meals and helping to feed patients, helping patients to safely move around, assisting with bed making and cleaning tasks, monitoring and reporting patients conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight measurements, recording and reporting information onto patient administration systems in written and electronic format and other administrative duties to assist the team.
We would expect you to fulfil your job role to the best of your ability with care and compassion, to comply with induction, mandatory and statutory training relevant to you job role.
