Job summary

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join our Trust as Deputy Chief Nurse. Reporting to the Chief Nurse, the Deputy Chief Nurse supports our Executive team in the coordination and delivery of quality, safety and safeguarding across the Trust. As Deputy Chief Nurse, you will lead the development and implementation of our corporate Quality Strategy, and support delivery of the patient equality and diversity agenda. The role of Deputy Chief Nurse is a crucial and pivotal role within our leadership team and will provide support to the Chief Nurse, Trust Board, and Divisional Management Teams regarding issues that support quality, safety, clinical leadership and professionalism.

Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will have significant experience in issues relating to quality, patient safety, safeguarding and clinical governance. We are looking to speak with credible and motivated Senior Nurses, with a successful track record of leading and inspiring teams. The Deputy Chief Nurse will support the Chief Nurse in providing leadership, strategic direction, advice, supervision and support to Nurses, Midwives, AHPs and Clinical Professionals throughout the Trust, ensuring that high quality clinical practice is integrated and embedded into all patient services.
