We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse Endoscopist to join our esteemed Gastroenterology Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of a robust and high-quality service to our patients
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- High Standard of Care:The post holder will ensure that all patients requiring gastrointestinal diagnosis and treatment receive the highest standard of care. This involves working autonomously to provide comprehensive and accurate assessments, diagnoses, advice, and treatment.
- Autonomous Practice: You will practice independently, delivering thorough assessments, clinical examinations, diagnoses, and clinical decision-making. The role involves prescribing, planning care, treatment, and ensuring the safe discharge of patients within a defined caseload, including routine, urgent, surveillance, and straight-to-test referrals.
- Accredited Expertise:The ideal candidate will have JAG accreditation for all endoscopic procedures they perform, ensuring the quality and safety of the services provided.
- Training and Mentorship: A key component of the role will be to provide training to trainee consultants, medical, and nursing endoscopists, ensuring their training is both comprehensive and safe.
- Patient Follow-up:This role contributes significantly to reducing trust capacity breaches by enabling timely follow-up of patients on waiting lists.
