Job summary

We are currently recruiting into our welcoming team of Cardiac Physiologists. This position is a permanent role, working part time 24 hours per week. You will be competent in all routine cardiac procedures, with advanced skills in Echocardiography or device implant/follow-up or/and interventional cardiology. A BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and evidence of working towards BSE / BHRS is desirable. As a band 7 Cardiac Physiologist you will be able to fully utilise your excellent communication and team working skills alongside your desire to put the patients first.

Main duties of the job

We offer an extensive Cardiology service that focusses on high quality and compassionate care for our patients. Our team is extremely motivated, highly skilled and friendly and work closely with a supportive team of Cardiologists in a large acute hospital setting. We work in a well equipped environment with an excellent history of training and great opportunities for development. Our cardiac intervention service is housed within 3 modern catheter labs. We provide an effective 24/7 Primary PCI service and have a rapidly expanding electrophysiology and tachy service. We implant and follow-up brady pacemakers, CRT devices and ICDs and we work closely with the heart failure team to offer an excellent standard of care for all of our patients which is of paramount importance to us. The Echocardiography service performs >13,000 diagnostic scans p.a.

Essential

  • BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
  • BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) or BHRS (British Heart Rhythm Society)/IBHRE accreditation or clear evidence of working towards either qualification.
  • MSc or equivalent experience.
  • RCCP and or HCPC Registered.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Leadership development.

Experience

Essential

  • Solid experience in Echocardiography or Cardiac Rhythm Management at band 6 level.
  • Proven record of clinical expertise.
  • Exposure to leadership experience.
