Job summary

We are seeking a Trust Doctor Registrar (ST4+) to cover middle-grade staffing gaps due to maternity leave. This full-time role includes resident on-call and separate neonatal cover. Responsibilities involve managing the Childrens Assessment Unit, participating in ward rounds, and providing in-patient ward cover. Supervision of junior colleagues is expected, with close collaboration with Consultants who provide a consultant of the week service. While there's no regular outpatient commitment, focus lies on delivering high-quality in-patient care and fostering a supportive team environment. If you're passionate about pediatrics and thrive in a dynamic clinical setting, we invite you to apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of the on-call rotation for general pediatrics. Working alongside a resident SHO and consultant, duties include covering both resident working hours and on-call responsibilities from home. As part of a department responsible for all admitted children, duties may entail attending to patients in Paediatric ED, on the childrens surgical ward, or in ITU. Occasional Child Protection cases may arise out of hours, requiring adherence to local guidelines.
