We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our diverse and specialist team! F5, F6 & F7 are part of the the busy Combined Haematology and Oncology Centre within Portsmouth Hospitals University (PHU) NHS Trust, one of the largest acute hospitals in the country!

Main duties of the job

We have the privilege of providing inpatient care to patients across Portsmouth, IOW, South East Hampshire and West Sussex, delivering a wide range of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) as well as offering post bone marrow and stem cell transplant care, disease related symptom control, management of cancer treatment related toxicities, palliative and end of life care. We will facilitate specialist training opportunities to develop you in your role, including: IV training SACT administration Phlebotomy and cannulation Haematology & oncology courses With an ever-widening range of treatments available, we have seen a huge increase in cancer patients with a diverse and challenging set of problems being admitted to PHU. Recruiting to this post will ensure the nursing establishment required to safely care for our patients and that our service's needs are met, therefore improving patient experience and staff satisfaction. Qualifications

Essential

  • Current RN+/- RN, registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications
  • BSc Degree in relevant field
  • Evidence of recent CPD

Experience

Essential

  • Managing resources and contributing to departmental budget
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines and managing resources
  • An awareness of research and evidenced-based practice relevant to clinical area
