Job summary
WPL plays a vital role for the NHS in Hampshire providing end-to-end procurement and supply chain services for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. By working closely with our customers you'll help us drive innovation, value and efficiency from procurement - enabling our hospitals to perform better and deliver better patient outcomes.
The strategic procurement team manages and influences both clinical and non-clinical indirect spend categories and much more. Our Stakeholders have demanding objectives and we play a key part in delivering the best possible commercial outcomes. We contribute to the NHS's Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) and we are passionate about building strong relationships with our suppliers to implement contracts that truly deliver quality and value to our hospitals.
Main duties of the job
This role is a senior position that requires the very best internal and external stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence, lead, prioritise, take ownership, engage, and men tor. The role requires a thorough knowledge of tendering, complex and strategic procurement requirements including contract drafting. The Procurement Manager will have ownership of a number of complex and strategic projects, ensuring their timely delivery and may include programme-specific categories. A flexible working approach is offered with this role which would be well suited to someone with a strong and demonstrable skill set within procurement, looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
