If youre a Pharmacist looking for a specialist role within Gastroenterology services, but outside the norm, we would love to hear from you.

This post is advertised as Band 8a but applications are invited from existing Band 7 pharmacists (or equivalent) who dont meet the B8a essential criteria but may be interested in being considered for the role as a development opportunity. For Band 7 applicants there would be a requirement to complete training with support from clinicians and the pharmacy team. The period for achieving this will be 1-2 years depending on knowledge, experience and demonstrating competence. With clear goals and objectives defined in a B7-8a development plan we will support you to achieve your full potential in becoming a specialist pharmacist.

The post holder will work in alignment with our Gastroenterology team which consists of Consultants, ACP Pharmacists and Specialist Nursing staff. The primary aim of this role is to provide Specialist Pharmacy input to the Gastroenterology team, and support with the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines. Our Pharmacy services are now integrated providing core services to a population of 615,000 across Devon.

This is an exciting new role based within the Gastroenterology Specialist team and different to a normal Pharmacy working routine. Youll be well supported and have the opportunity to develop Specialist Gastroenterology knowledge and training as well as to influence the wider development of the service.
