Job summary

You will be part of a team of rotational pharmacists covering a range of clinical and core services. You will gain a wide range of experience including dispensary, aseptic services, community services, medicines information and on call duties. Clinical duties will include cardiology, respiratory, trauma and orthopaedics, gastroenterology, acute medicine, acute surgery, care of the elderly. Learning from our senior and specialist pharmacists and alongside our team of experienced medicines management technicians.

The successful candidate will benefit from our in-house training. While this is a fixed-term contract, there may be an opportunity to be considered for a permanent position during the year, subject to availability and the recruitment process.

This role also involves on-call duties and weekend and bank holiday rosters.

Are you a current foundation trainee who will register this year following the summer 2025 assessment or a registered pharmacist looking for a new challenge? If this is you and you are interested in working in secondary care we have an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join us at the Royal Devon University Hospital which is a top-ranked NHS Trust and teaching hospital that provides a full range of acute hospital services to the people of Devon.

This is a role with plenty of learning opportunities within a welcoming, committed and aspiring department, with a strong team-working and patient-focused culture that will allow you to improve your medicines expertise and work at the cutting edge of patient care.

You will be supported by our highly trained specialist pharmacists to ensure you develop your clinical skills and supporting the team to provide a high level of patient focused care.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Please note there is a requirement to participate in 7 day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
