Job summary

This role involves working with a team of skilled Physiotherapists to support the rehabilitation provided to patients following admission to hospital. You will be helping patients who have undergone surgery to regain their mobility, function and independence.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as part of our Specialist Surgery Rehabilitation team based at the Royal Devon & Exeter main site (Wonford).

The Royal Devon has a passion for pursuing perfection across all areas of its services. We are a welcoming Trust, focussed on valuing a persons differences and encouraging them to grow and flourish in their role in healthcare and is set in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.

We have both full and part time positions available which involve providing a range of therapeutic interventions, treatments and exercise programmes to patients and liaising with patients and family/carers in discharge planning and prevention of falls.

Post holders will be expected to identify and support the physical limitations of a patients disability and their functional problems to support the therapy team to deliver early routine assessments and rehabilitation. There will be a requirement to develop strong links with the multidisciplinary teams working in the acute and community settings. The caseload will be patients who are recovering from surgical procedures and are being assessed for discharge home or to their normal place of residence.

All members of the team will be expected to work across all areas and be available for the shifts across 7 days including weekends and bank holidays. The post holder will work flexibly in other areas if required.

The role comes with the added benefit of being in a modern city with a wide range of leisure activities and entertainment facilities. Based within the heart of beautiful Devon and just off the M5, Exeter has a lot to offer, with a stunning coastline and picturesque moors within throwing distance of the city.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 08:15 to 16:30 Weekends and Bank Holidays allocated on a rota basis
