Job summary

To contribute to the delivery of patients individual care programmes under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
To provide high quality nursing care to named patients undergoing training or the provision of a renal home-based therapy under the direction and supervision of a Registered Community Clinical Nurse Specialist.
To practice in accordance with Trust standards and statutory requirements and to operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity within the Renal department for an enthusiastic team member to join our Peritoneal Dialysis Assistant Practitioner team. This is a part-time permanent vacancy for a Band 3 or 4 looking to expand their knowledge of peritoneal dialysis and renal care. If the successful candidate enters at Band 3 level, they will be expected to work towards their Level 5 HND qualification.

The role provides a unique opportunity to provide specialist peritoneal dialysis care to people in their homes. We offer an assisted peritoneal dialysis service which you will be a key part of, in which education of both staff and patients is a key aspect, along with working within the wider renal department to care for our patients.

Our Assistant Practioners form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few.

You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person.

Working Pattern: 30 hours between Monday to Sunday, 08:00 - 16:00, including weekends and Bank Holidays. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
