Job summary

This post is for a Specialist Occupational Therapist who is passionate about rehabilitation.

Opportunities with in this role include:

  • To enhance and extend your assessment, intervention and clinical decision making skills with patients with a variety of clinical conditions.
  • To delivery rehabilitation groups.
  • To set patient centred goals, plan and implement rehabilitation programmes with the MDT.
  • To supervise Therapy Clinical Support Workers and Occupational Therapy Students.
  • To work with an integrated Occupational and Physiotherapy Team.

South Molton Community Hospital has a 20 bedded Rehabilitation ward for patients who live in North Devon. The majority of patients are transferred from North Devon District Hospital. There are opportunities to deliver rehabilitation in a creative way, the team are passionate about delivering holistic patient care to support good clinical outcomes. If you are a flexible and creative in your approach to work, enjoy working in a multi disciplinary team, have an interest in developing yourself and others, this could be the opportunity for you.

  • An excellent communicator who can problem solve quickly and effectively while demonstrating sound clinical knowledge in all core areas.
  • Intuitive and capable of delivering high quality and safe Occupational Therapy interventions in a creative way.
  • Experienced at complex discharge planning, with knowledge of equipment.

You will be required to be an autonomous practitioner and have appropriate post graduate training.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00 - 16.00 with occasional weekend working on the Acute site.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
