This role requires theoretical knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathologies and an understanding of orthopaedic conditions including trauma and elective surgery. As well as post graduate experience across acute orthopaedics in both elective and trauma, with skills in therapeutic examination, assessment and treatment of patients who present with diverse presentations, including physical and psychological conditions, to provide a clinical diagnosis.

• Set patient specific goals for rehabilitation.
• To work with the patient, family, carers and MDT to increase patients' independence.
• Supervising junior staff with their development and progression within roles.
• Service development and teaching opportunities.
• Working as a Multidisciplinary team including support from an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is keen to support staff to develop clinical skills through regular supervision and internal and external professional development opportunities. There will be opportunities to develop your skills as a Clinical Supervisor with Students, Junior Therapists and Therapy Clinical Support Workers. We'll support you in finding the best way to grow.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 8:00 - 16:00 or 12:00 - 20:00 (occasional) on a 7 day rolling pattern. We provide a seven-day service which requires rotational weekend working and physiotherapy cover in electives until 20:00 twice a week.
