Job summary

This role is fast paced, working in a busy team within Trauma & Orthopaedics. You will be working as part of a team on Reception within Fracture Clinic, answering telephones and dealing with patient appointments. The role may also include cross cover within the PEOC department. The main duties of this role include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients at reception within Fracture Clinic
  • Answering telephones and dealing with appointment requests/queries
  • Booking patient appointments from waiting lists, ensuring appointments are booked accurately on the system
  • Using the NHS E-Referral Service to upload referral letters to EPIC

We are looking for a personable, well organised, enthusiastic person to provide an efficient, professional administrative and clerical service to the Trauma & Orthopaedics Department within the Surgical Services Division. You will form an essential part of an extremely busy team ensuring patient appointments are booked accurately and information is updated regularly, in a timely manner. You will also need to provide effective communication to both patients and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service which enhances patient care. The role is patient facing and fast paced, therefore being flexible and able to prioritise tasks is essential.
