This is a varied role, and you neednt have a background in recruitment to be brilliant at it! We are looking for an organised, customer focused and conscientious individual to join our team, on a permanent and part-time basis.

This role is based primarily at our Newcourt House offices, near IKEA, though we are happy to support hybrid working. Free and ample office parking is available, as well as access to good bus and train routes. Given the work you will be involved with, you may be required to travel to different locations from time to time, if needed.

Our Executive and Specialist Recruitment team are our in-house recruitment specialists and they deliver tailored recruitment solutions to specialist and senior roles across our NHS Trust, as well as working with some nearby partners in the NHS. It is therefore essential that you are comfortable dealing with people both in person, in writing and in online video environments.

Representing the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and wider NHS, excellent people skills are key and we need you to support candidates and recruiting managers with their recruitment journey, ensuring the best possible experience regardless of the outcome.

Recruitment activity

You will be a key person in our tailored recruitment process, getting vacancies out into the wider world! What does the role involve? Lets walk through a vacancy together:

  • First up, youll be the person to review the vacancies being sent through by our managers. Youll help them by checking theyve got everything in place for the advert to go live.
  • Once youve published the vacancy, you will then assist with interview arrangements.
  • Then theres the really good part supporting with offering new people to join our teams! You will be part of the good news in setting up the new starter for success.
  • You will be a main point of contact for new executive and specialist appointments, supporting them through the necessary pre-employment checks.
  • Youll maintain systems and databases to ensure the team activity is kept up to date for reporting purposes.

You will also be involved in supporting related recruitment activity, such as...

  • Using shared mailboxes, you will answer queries from both candidates and recruiting managers in email, on Teams and over the phone in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that excellent and professional service to your clients, both internal and external to the organisation, is at the heart of what you do.
  • Be involved in diary management, co-ordination of recruitment activity and events, and may be required to attend recruitment locations as required. You may also be required to work occasional weekend days (with notice).
  • Support and advise hiring managers of processes and ensure all documents and personal information are stored in line with the relevant regulations and full training will be provided.
  • Supporting the job evaluation team with some administrative tasks.

Experience in recruitment is not essential, but a kind, empathetic and client-centred manner is essential. Training on systems and processes will be provided. A methodical and organised approach to work is key, with an ability to identify priorities independently and respond accordingly.

You will have at least a Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Levels or NVQ Level 3) or the equivalent life experience, along with good IT skills (we use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook as well as other role related systems).

While recruitment experience is not essential for this role, a willingness to learn this is very important, and we will support you in this process. Most importantly, youll be a nice person who wants to help other people the people you work with, managers and candidates.

Working Pattern: 30 hours over 4 days per week (one of which must include Friday). We're happy to discuss which days could work for you, so please ensure you let us know in your supporting information what you have in mind so we can be sure it works with the service operating hours.
