Job summary

We are looking for an experienced clinician to support the clinical leadership and quality assurance of 0-19 Public Health Nursing service across Solent NHS Trust.

The post holder will be responsible for the clinical delivery of the National Healthy Child Programme (HCP) within the 0-19 Service and to provide clinically safe effective services. Working in partnership with the leadership team to embed clinical governance, professional leadership and integrated efficient working practices.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to be able to adapt to the changing requirements emerging over time and working in partnership with the Service Managers, Operational Managers and the Head of Service to support changes to both the service delivery model and staffing structures.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Quality Governance Lead for Public Health 0-19 to ensure safe clinical delivery and quality assurance of the 0-19 service providing clear, visible direction which is truly committed to improving the service user experience at every step of their care pathway.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by the end of 2024.

Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.

The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on the day the trust is formed. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

  • Registered Nurse/midwife and registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse on part 3 of the NMC register
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Working with children and parents in a variety of settings.
  • Experience of effective working collaboratively with professionals from other agencies and disciplines
  • Experience of using Digital self service portals for parents
  • Planning and delivering health education information
  • Evaluation of programmes of work.
  • Experience of clinical audit
  • Experience of involving children and families/carers in service development and care planning
