Job summary

Based across two sites in Basingstoke and Aldershot, and work alongside other managers to support the wider Therapy team. This is a great opportunity to join our Child & Family Service Line to support the operational management and delivery of health care. Working with other organisations as well as our primary care colleagues we provide great care which keeps our patients - children and young people at the heart of everything we do. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to fulfil the role. This role will provide operational leadership having responsibility for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists delivering health care to children and young people 0-19 years. The role will work alongside Clinical Leads to ensure safe service delivery. The post holder will be accountable for the operational delivery within this service. Supported by the management team, they will lead the development of health services that are integrated within our health, social care and education partners. This role requires proven experience of professional leadership in children's services and operational management. They will be part of the Physical Health Portfolio which sits within the Child & Family Service Line and have an excellent peer group to draw support from as well as excellent training and development opportunities available.
Main duties of the job
The Therapy Manager will be responsible for the operational and clinical delivery of system wide care pathways and service standards delivered by the Children's Integrated Therapy Service as part of integrated locality teams within the Child and Family service line.They will ensure a safe and effective patient service is provided and under the leadership of Head of Service, Quality Governance Lead and Clinical Lead, and manage the operational, staffing, governance and financial performance associated with the designated service.The Therapy Manager will support the Physical Health Leads in helping to translate the vision of integrated management into safe, effective, and efficient service delivery.Using their leadership skills, they will be a visible, accessible, and professionally presence, providing leadership and supervision to their direct reports.Working with the Physical Health Leads they will participate in the development and implementation of the service line management, robust governance models and safe clinical management processes. The Therapy Manager will be a member of the Children's Therapy and Physical Health Leadership Teams.

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
