Job summary
Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) is delivered by experienced, registered health care practitioners. It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This is underpinned by a master's level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of area specific clinical competence.
Solent NHS Mental Health service line currently has one ACP vacancy, for a professional from a nursing or AHP background, to deliver an advanced level of clinical practice within our adult psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU).
The successful applicant will work within a multi-professional team, including nurse consultant, medics, nurses, support workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and more to ensure that patients receive well rounded, holistic care to the highest standard.
Main duties of the job
- Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice or the completion of the e-portfolio route
- Applicants must hold an NHSE 'Advanced' Digital Staff Badge
- Applicants must be an independent and supplementary prescriber
- Applicant must have significant experience or working within psychiatric inpatient services and PICU experience would be advantageous

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust.
