Job summary

Are you looking to start or develop a career in the NHS? If so, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our administration team to provide administrative support to the Integrated Learning Disability Service.

We offer a city-wide Health and Social Care Service for people with a Learning Disability and their Carers and have been rated as "Outstanding" by the CQC.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent secretarial experience and be able to produce correspondence, presentations, minutes, leaflets and devise spread sheets.

The post holder will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will need to be well organised, flexible and have the ability to work on their own initiative. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage as would a knowledge of Health or PCC IT systems, although training will be provided. You will received regular supervision and support.

This role will be based at The Kestrel Centre, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth.

Main duties of the job

  • Due to the inter-connected nature of the Integrated Learning Disability Service there is an expectation that all of its staff will be prepared to support any element of its service as needs dictate and in line with their professional competencies.
  • To be responsible for the production of typed documents for the Service following formats and practices as required by the Service and agreed with the Administration Manager.
  • To administer petty cash in accordance with Solent NHS Trust Code of Financial Procedure.
  • Using SBS ordering system ensure maintenance of stationery and other stock items for the Service.
  • To participate in general office duties including answering the telephone, reception, photocopying, dealing with enquiries, distribution/collating of incoming and external mail.
  • To adopt tasks undertaken by other admin team members during periods of annual leave and sickness.
  • Attend meetings as required, taking, transcribing and disseminating of minutes, some of which may be complex
  • To update and distribute protocols and procedures under the direction of the Service Manager.
  • To support the Continuing Care Co-ordinator, alerting her on reviews and arranging reviews. Type reviews and ensuring client database is kept up-to-date -- as required.
  • To support the Lead Speech & Language Therapist to manage and monitor the Accessible Information Website -- as required. .
