Job summary
Our Clinical Nursing and Quality Manager is a key role in the clinical leadership of the Solent GP Surgery and as part of the leadership team will work to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe care.
The role will provide professional leadership to practice nurses and health care assistants for the surgery. The post holder will work closely with the Service and Quality Manager to ensure the operational delivery of high-quality care, clinical safety, and effective clinical governance.
The Clinical Nursing and Quality Manager will ensure that care is consistently delivered to a high standard and that the nursing and professions resources is effectively managed in the surgery and will be a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence others can turn for leadership, assistance, advice and support.
To work in with the surgery team within Solent GP Surgery to co-ordinate and plan the achievement of the annual quality outcome framework (QOF) and other service contracts- leading and driving their implementation from a nursing perspective.
The Clinical Nursing and Quality Manager will be accountable for the delivery of safe, caring, effective, well led clinical and multi professional care.
Main duties of the job
To work with high degree of autonomy and professional accountability.
Be able to provide evidence of advance clinical skills and professional lead skills.
Apply the hygiene code to ensure a clean and safe environment, liaising with the estates team in reviewing and improving the environmental infrastructure.
Be responsible and accountable for delivering a safe and clean care environment.
Produce infection control and related reports as requested by the Heads of Quality & Professions and the Chief Nurse (who is also the Director of Infection Prevention and Control).
Assume responsibility for risk issues within the clinical environment ensuring corrective action is taking.
Develop, embed, and sustain monthly formal quality rounds in each clinical area, document findings and develop action plans to rectify any concerns.
Act as lead for the recruitment and retention of nursing staff.

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
