Children's Therapy Service: South East Hampshire and Portsmouth City -- Occupational Therapist

We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Occupational Therapist and would welcome interest from therapists with experience with Children or Adults in the areas of Neurodisability and / or Complex disability.

We can support you to develop your Children's Occupational Therapy Clinical and Leadership skills by offering:

Main duties of the job

The role encompasses highly specialist clinical delivery, consultative, teaching, and research functions.

The post holder will bring the highest standards of clinical care to the young people and their support system through excellent assessment, emotional support and access to appropriate services and advice

The post holder will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, advice, discharge planning and treatment planning/delivery.

Since 1 May 2014 we have been the providers of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy to children and young people 0-19 years across the county of Hampshire including the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth.

We have a telephone advice line, a Schools Therapy Resource Pack, provide school INSET training and receive excellent feedback from the Friends and Family Test.

We value our staff highly and offer full induction, clinical supervision and appraisal, CPD/training opportunities and professional, clinical, managerial and peer support.

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Health Care Professional Council registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Evidence of study at Masters' level or working towards this qualification relevant to area of practice.

Desirable

  • Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy
  • Member of an appropriate Special Interest Group

  • Post-registration experience in relevant setting.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to make decisions in complex and unpredictable situations and deal with verbal or physical aggression on occasions
  • Proven Clinical Leadership and presentation skills
  • Able to take personal responsibility, work autonomously and manage time effectively

  • Experience of practice placement education and providing teaching/training for a range of student/staff needs
