Job summary
Looking to take a break from full-time general practice, or would you like greater flexibility?
Welcome to Solent GP Surgery... Just the Right Medicine for Your Career!
We're recruiting a Salaried or Retainer GP to work within our Solent GP Surgery. We're keen to support the general practitioners to work flexibly and stay working within general practice. We are looking to recruit 2 to 8 clinical sessions a week and really welcome a portfolio GP or those who want to explore other interests
Why work at Solent?
Testament from one of our GPs:
We have an eclectic mix of patients across the socioeconomic scale and the pathology is fascinating! We have a fantastic team who have been with me through some of my worst life experiences. I can honestly say the team is one of the main reasons why I have been with Solent for so long!
We are a diverse and sociable workforce who enjoy a range of nice calm picnic socials alongside slightly noisier Christmas socials.
The GPs are all salaried with lead roles available if you show an interest in a particular area. The workload is fair and equitable (another reason for joining).
Come and join us!
If you are a qualified GP (MRCGP or equivalent) and on the GP Performers list, we'd love to hear from you! We welcome informal visits or chats. We are passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion and creating a culture that allows everyone to flourish.
Main duties of the job
Who Are We?
Solent NHS trust has been working with General Practice since 2010. We have said goodbye to the traditional model of general practice and instead consist of a GP Clinical Lead and clinical 'champions' for specific domains as opposed to a partnership model. Based mainly between the Royal South Hants (based within central Southampton) and the Adelaide Health Centre (in Millbrook). We hold an APMS contract and have a patient list of approximately 21,000 patients, striving to work together, as one team to deliver great care for our patients.
We are a member practice of the Southampton Central PCN and work hard together to provide more integrated and innovative services to our patients. We are actively growing our ARRS team to help support GPs in day to day practice. We use the SystemOne clinical system and benefit from being part of a community and mental health trust to support further integration of services within Southampton City.
What we can offer:
- A growing and forward-thinking team of GPs and other healthcare professionals
- Regular clinical supervision and mentorship
- Flexible working- a mixture of remote and on-site clinical sessions
- Trust specific learning and development system with free to access courses
- Study leave budget allocation each year to assist in developing your skills
- Tier 2 Sponsorship
- A comprehensive Trust and Practice induction
